SmashNRun did not begin in a boardroom. It began with two friends trying to buy decent equipment in Pakistan, and slowly realising that the gap they kept running into was the opportunity itself.

It started with a racket

We were researching padel rackets. The sport was spreading quickly, courts were appearing in Pakistani cities, and we wanted to understand it properly before putting money behind anything. Weeks of reading turned into months of questions: what actually makes a good racket, who manufactures them, and why does so little reach a player here without a heavy import mark-up on top.

The more we studied the equipment side, the more we noticed something else. Players had somewhere to play, and increasingly they had gear to play with. What they did not have was clothing built for the way they actually move.

A gap we could not ignore

Sportswear in our market usually arrives one of two ways. Either it is an international label priced far beyond what a regular player can justify, or it is a cheap copy that looks the part for a week and then fades, sags and pills. Almost nothing sat in the middle: honest performance fabric, cut properly, finished properly, at a price a serious amateur can pay without hesitating.

That middle is where we decided to build. Not fast fashion with a sports logo on it, and not a luxury badge either. Kit you can train in four times a week, wash without ceremony, and still feel good wearing at the end of a season.

Made in Pakistan, on purpose

Pakistan already makes sportswear for the world. The mills, the knitters, the stitching units and the finishing expertise are all here, often quietly producing for names you would recognise. What has been missing is a home-grown brand willing to hold that supply chain to the same standard for its own people, instead of treating the local market as the place where seconds get sold.

So we manufacture locally by choice, not as a compromise. It keeps us close to production, lets us correct a fit in days rather than in shipping cycles, and it keeps the value inside the community that made the product.

The 90 Series

Our first collection is deliberately small. The 90 Series is a tight set of pieces built around movement, on court and on the road, engineered to breathe, stretch and hold its shape. We would rather release a handful of things we can defend in detail than a catalogue we cannot stand behind.

Every piece that carries the name has been worn, washed and argued about before it reached the store. If it did not survive that, it did not ship.

What comes next

The plan is patient. More disciplines, better fabric, deeper collaborations with athletes and clubs, and a Journal that documents Pakistani sport properly, including the forgotten names that deserve to be written down. SmashNRun has taken its first step. The rest we intend to build in the open.
